Zone one is factory programmed as a Fire Alarm, but it can be changed to any zone type we'd like. A list of zone types is available on page 8 of the Honeywell Programming Guide, but the most commonly used are listed below.

00 = Zone Disabled
01 = Entry/Exit 1 (front door, interior garage door, etc.)
02 = Entry/Exit 2 (garage overhead door, outside gate, etc.)
03 = Perimeter (back door, windows, glass breakage, etc.)
04 = Interior (motion detector, stair door, etc.)
09 = Fire Alarm (smoke detector, heat detector, etc.)

Zone one is most commonly used for an entry/exit door. An entry/exit door would normally be the front door of the residence, or the interior garage door. For the purpose of this tutorial we'll program zone one as the front door.
