Burglar alarm zones are normally closed circuits with an option to use end-of-line resistors. DSC panels come from the factory set to use resistors, so unless you change it in the program you'll need to remember to install the 5600 ohm resistor inline with the circuit. Normally-closed circuits are exactly what they sound like, if the circuit is closed the system considers the zone secured, if the circuit opens the system considers the zone faulted, it's just that simple.

Multiple contacts are wired in series with each other as shown in the diagram. If end-of-line resistors are enabled in your program you'll need to install the 5600 ohm resistor inline with one leg of the farthest contact on the circuit.
