Step 4 of 6 : Assign the Zone to Partition One

A partition is an area of a security system that arms and disarms together. Almost all do-it-yourself systems are made up of a single partition (partition one).

Section 204 is the programming block that covers the partition one settings for zone 17 through 24.

Sections 202 through 209 are where we decide what zones are included in partition one. Section 204 contains an eight segment block that covers zones 17 through 24. If a segment is selected it's corresponding zone is enabled in partition one. Zones 17 through 24 won't be enabled on any partition in a new system. We're going to enable them all in partition one.

Press 204 to enter section 204

Press 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 to toggle all eight segments on and include them in partition one.

Press # to exit the location.

The red armed light will be lit to indicate that the system is waiting on the next three digit section number to be entered.

Note: You won't have to repeat this step when adding new zones between zones 17 and 24.
